
Types of Bequests and Sample Bequest Wording The bequests of Friends to MPTV have helped provide the foundation upon which we are building today. Your legacy will ensure that Milwaukee Public Television is an even stronger community organization tomorrow. We recognize that your estate plans are a personal matter, and will keep any information you choose to share with us confidential.
An outright bequest leaves a specific sum or property to the MPTV Friends.
- Expressed as a specific sum of money:
I give to the MPTV Friends, Inc. the sum of $___.
- Expressed as a specific asset or item:
I give to the MPTV Friends, Inc. ____.
- Expressed as a percentage:
I give to the MPTV Friends, Inc. ___% of my estate.
A residuary bequest is a bequest of all, or a portion, of your estate after other specific bequests have been made.
A contingent bequest leaves your estate, or a percentage of your estate to the MPTV Friends, Inc. if your beneficiaries do not survive you.
A testamentary life income gift is a plan where the MPTV Friends, Inc. would receive the principal of a trust that will first pay lifetime income to those whom you designate in your estate plans. Please see charitable remainder trusts
For an undesignated bequest you may add "for its general use and purposes" to the above statements.
To designate a preferred area you may add, "to be used to benefit Milwaukee Public Television’s ___ .(fine arts programming, children's programming, for example).
